I grew up in Hampshire, IL and graduated from Hampshire High School in 1982. From there I went on to complete my certificate of Business Management from Elgin Community College. After college, I gained experience as a general contractor which helped with building my first home. I then used this knowledge to renovate multiple homes as time went on. I realized after rehabbing homes, almost all had some safety issues – some electrical, some plumbing, some structural issues. I then decided to look into Home Inspection as an occupation.

I completed my Home Inspection training course through ICA School (Inspection Certification Associates). Following my training I took the Illinois State Home Inspection exam and applied for and received a Home Inspector license from the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in Illinois. Finally, I went into business for myself – creating Lodge Inspections, LLC to provide my home inspection services to all those in Northern Illinois.
